Course Introduction
Stage 0 · How this Fusion 360 for FRC course works
01
What This Course Is
A hands-on path from your first sketch to full robot subsystems, in Fusion 360.
- Adapted from frcdesign.org, rebuilt for Fusion
- Read a step, then do it in Fusion yourself
- Work the units in order — they build on each other
- Submit your CAD so coaches can give feedback
02
How Each Lesson Works
Left rail = the curriculum. Middle = the lesson you follow along with.
- Every step has a short explanation and a screenshot
- Do it in Fusion as you read — don't just scroll
- Mark a lesson complete when you finish it
- Toggle Student / Mentor — mentors see extra teaching notes
03
What You'll Need
Set these up before lesson 1 (see the Course Toolkit).
- Fusion 360 with the free Education license
- The AltSkripts + FRC-COTS add-ins installed
- A 3-button mouse (strongly recommended over a trackpad)
- An AltHub account to submit your CAD
Key idea
Build it — don't just read it.
You only learn CAD by doing. Keep Fusion open next to every lesson and actually make the part as you go.
