The Gusset

Build a gusset that ties two tubes together — projecting the holes off the tubes so it flexes when the frame changes.

Last exercise you made a standalone plate in its own file. This time you'll build a plate that ties two box tubes together: a gusset, using projectings and creating new components in a parts file.

Build the Gusset

Same plate workflow as last time

  • Create the outline of the gusset
  • Draw in the holes
  • Extrude and use the Fillet all Edges AltSkript

Once your gusset is in, build a few of your own for practice.

  • Remake it on a different corner of the frame.
  • Try a different shape — an L or a T.
