Bellypan Pocketing
Optional weight savings — pocket the bellypan in a diamond rib pattern, if your team can machine it.
01
Pocket the Bellypan
Cut weight from the bellypan — about 3-4 lbs — and open up wire routing.
- Optional: it saves weight but adds machining time.
- A diamond rib pattern keeps it strong.
- Talk to your team before committing — it's a cost/benefit call.

Build the Pattern
Lay out ribs, then let the tool pocket it.
- Two diagonal lines at 45 deg plus an edge offset.
- Rectangular Pattern the ribs across the top; mirror to the bottom.
- Connect any islands near mounting holes so nothing floats.
